The FM Team
Tara Decoda, Founder & Fashion Editor
Growing up in New York City, dubbed ‘the fashion capital of the United States’, it seemed natural for Tara Decoda to pursue a career in fashion. Upon graduating high school, Tara decided she wanted to become a stylist to the stars and immediately began interning with some of the industry’s most respected stylists. Working on video sets, TV sets, and photo shoots, and apprenticing under stylists such as Trina Patterson, Emily B and Misa Hylton-Brim, Tara was doing at 18 what most 25 year olds only dream of doing.
After mixing her love for fashion with her innate writing talent, she launched Fashion Manifesto on May 31, 2008. The goal she set for FM was to bring quality style advice to the urban reader, after noticing that most fashion sites didn’t showcase celebrities and fashion that most urban readers relate to.
“As far as fashion goes, we don’t have the same needs or seek the same things when shopping, it’s a different experience for us. But not that different”
Outside of writing for and maintaining her own blog, Tara has also written for Allthatsfab.com, GetEmGirls.com, NecoleBitchie.com, and many more! Bringing quality, realistic style advice to readers who visit Fashion Manifesto is Tara’s main priority.
“I am a strong believer in ‘fashion fades, only style remains the same’, which is perhaps Coco Chanel’s most famous quote. I try to focus more on the development of personal style and not so much on what’s in and what’s out. I want to create content that is timeless, where you can look back at it months from now and it still makes sense. It’s about quality. If you want mundane content, go to a mundane site. If you want quality content, come to Fashion Manifesto”– Tara Decoda
