What Not To Do: Logo Nails

08Jan09

This trend seems to be getting popular by the day, and it needs to stop before it gets out of hand:

Rihanna first sported the trend with smiley faces on her nails in December at an event in London, England. Then Heidi Montag decided to hop on the band wagon with the Chanel logo on her nails recently while shopping it up at none other then Chanel.

3 reasons why it’s wrong:

1. It’s tacky, and depending on the logo (i.e. designers such as Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, etc.)– ghetto!

2. It’s immature, although some may prefer the phrase youthful

3. It’s whack! Period.

Because I’m all about solutions, here is a better alternative for the funky fashionista that likes to play with nails:

MINX Nails! Minx has been a well kept secret for a long time, I actually just heard about it several months back. Mariah Carey, Keyshia Cole, Eve, Solange and particularly Beyonce are major fans of this trend. Minx, for all who don’t know, are made of a flexible solid color, or printed colored, film. What’s so good about Minx nails is that you don’t ever have to worry about chipping or ruining your manicure because it is applied with heat and pressure, which eliminates drying time to zit-zero.

You can find the Minx nails trend in videos such as “Single Ladies” (Beyonce), “I Stay In Love” (Mariah Carey), and many more!

Need a funky nail fix? Get just that with MINX nails, while still keeping it classy. Find a salon near you that does Minx nails here.

  1. I love these “not what to do” entries. You should do a lot more.. or make a whole blog dedicated to them! I’m sure I’m not the only one obsessed with “what not to do” topics!
