60th Primetime Emmy Awards- Red Carpet Trends

23Sep08

There is always consistency in color schemes and themes on every red carpet and the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards was no different:

Mariska Hargitay, Terri Hatcher and Anastasia Griffith all competed with the sun in yellow/canary tones.

The color of the season- Plum, wasn’t as popular on the carpet. Stars such as Tina Fey, Nicolette Sheridan and Laura Dern all brought out the season’s best though.

Silver hues were popping up here and there on the carpet. Eva Longoria-Parker, Heidi Klum and Felicity Huffman all came out in jeweled tones.

Although silver was popping up, members of the gold family also came out.  Champagne-nude made appearances on stars such as Marcia Cross, Jennifer Morrison and Evangaline Lily.

Out of all trends, solid prints were the most prominent. No one really messed with mixed prints or multi colors, except for these ladies. Vanessa Williams, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Lisa Edelstein didn’t mind mixing it up.

Although purple is the color of the season, if you left it to these stars, you wouldn’t be able to tell. Classic black came out in all lengths, shapes and cuts. America Ferrera, Debra Messing, Chandra Wilson, Sandra Oh, Hayden Panettiere, Lauren Conrad and many more wore the classic red carpet color.

To see which designers were the most prominent on the carpet……

Marcia Cross and Evangeline Lily both wore Elie Saab.

Jennifer Morrison and Eva Longoria-Parker both looked stunning in Marchesa.

Hayden Panettiere and Brooke Shields went in opposite directions in Badgley Mischka.

Debra Messing and Terri Hatcher both wore Monique Lhuillier, Debra obviously outdoing Terri.

Mariska Hargitay and Jennifer Love Hewitt both wore Carolina Herrera.

Both Tina Fey and Ugly Betty star Ashley Jensen looked very simple in David Meister.

But it was one designer that popped up more than others. Felicity Huffman, Olivia Wilde and Christina Applegate all wore Reem Acra.
