What To Wear To A Wedding

The weather is getting warmer, and after all the planning and frustration a wedding is finally about to go down. But what to wear? What’s appropriate? Should I wear white? How long/short should my dress be? Just relax ladies! No matter what your budget, Fashion Manifesto has got you covered.

Gap Strapless Empire Waist Dress $59.99.

You can wear bold, colorful accessories with this simple black dress. I recommend layering your necklaces, and the bigger the better, the more the merrier!

David Meister Abstract Flower Print Sheath Dress with Belt $350 at Bloomingdales.

This dress has a lot going on so keep the accessories to a minimum and don’t try to mix-match your shoes either. Yellow heels would be good for this and perhaps have your hair up like the model in the photo.

Foley + Corrina Hollywood Dress $462 at http://www.shopbop.com

This dress is very versatile, so whether it’s a day time or evening wedding it can work. Try not to over do it with the accessories with this one, it’s fragile.

Three Tone Silk Dress $39.80 at Forever 21

This dress is very young and fun, spunky but still appropriate for a wedding. You can dress it up or down and if it gets chilly, you can throw a cardigan over it.

Garden Baby Doll Dress $27.80 at Forever 21

When I saw this dress I laughed (not in a bad way). This dress is just so cute and spring-y. You can wear this to a day time wedding, if the wedding is more formal… DO NOT wear this dress!

Theory Analba Tie-Waist Dress $275 at Neiman Marcus

This dress would be perfect for a evening wedding. You can pair this with some black closed toe pumps, perhaps with a red bottom? No colorful accessories for this one, just opt for small silver or gold jewelry.

Some may have liked my picks and some may disagree, and for those who disagree here are the do’s and dont’s. You don’t have to agree with me or like my picks but you have to know what you CAN and CAN NOT do.

Do’s and Dont’s:

DON’T wear white… are you attending the wedding or are you getting married?

DON’T wear a mini, or a dress that leaves too much out. It’s inappropriate.

DO wear something feminine and comfortable, after all you’ll probably be there all night or day.

DON’T wear big puffy dresses and “opera” style gloves, this is not your prom.

DO wear pastels, spring colors (black is okay), anything summer-y.

And ladies, please leave the sequins at home!
